Chairman Council of Islamic Ideology Dr Muhammad Khalid Masood has said the Zakat fund can be deposited in the President Relief Fund (PRF). "Zakat fund can also be utilised to rehabilitate and facilitate the quake victims", he said while talking in a PTV programme.
He said the government is striving hard and every effort is being made to rehabilitate the quake victims.
There was a dire need of commodities of life especially warm clothes before the winter sets in the quake affected areas, he added.
He urged the International Community, philanthropists, Industrialists and masses to help beyond their capabilities for relief and rehabilitation of quake affectees as it was our Islamic, moral and human duty.
He said, "we should celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr with simplicity and cut short extra expenses to donate more money for quake victims".
He expressed satisfaction over ongoing activities in the affected areas and said yet much more needed to be done.
