Japanese rubber surge

The amount of rubber used to make tyres in Japan rose 6.7 percent in September from a year to 116,615 tonnes, data from the Japan Automobile Tyre Manufacturers' Association showed on Tuesday.
Tyres shipped domestically in the month contained a total of 58,527 tonnes of rubber, down 1.1 percent from a year. Exported tyres contained 57,220 tonnes, up 12.3 percent. Inventories totalled 46,922 tonnes, up 24.4 percent.
