SBP issues new currency notes worth Rs 63 billion

The State Bank of Pakistan has issued 557.033 million pieces of new currency notes of various denominations worth Rs 63.420 billion from first Ramazan to 27th (November 1), Chief Spokesman of SBP Syed Waseemuddin told APP here on Wednesday.
The new currency notes on the eve of Eid has taken the status of a tradition and people exchange new notes from various sources like banks and currency notes traders for paying "Eidee" (Cash as token of festivity) to children, youngsters and lower employees.
The central bank released 247.896 million pieces of currency notes of Rs 10 denominations, worth Rs 2.479 billion during the holy month till 27th of Ramazan while 60.712 million pieces of currency notes worth Rs 1.214 billion of Rs 20 denominations were issued throughout the country.
SBP issued 64.963 million pieces worth Rs 3.248 billion of Rs 50 denominations, 127.333 million pieces worth Rs 12.733 billion of Rs 100 denominations, 24.768 million pieces worth Rs 12.384 billion of Rs 500 denominations and 31.361 million pieces worth Rs 31.361 billion of Rs 1000 denominations during this period.
