Eight killed in various mishaps

Eight persons, including two women and two children, were killed in various road accidents. In the first accident, an old woman Nasreen Bibi and her son Hakim Din were killed, when a speedy truck collided with their motorcycle near Khanuwana Bypass. The driver escaped from the scene.
According to police, Hakim was taking his mother to Abadi Harlan from Malkhanwala.
In another accident, one Arif Iftikhar was crushed under the wheel of a passenger bus near Samundri. He was sent to hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
A cyclist Akhtar was crushed to death by a wagon near Manawala, while a boy was killed after falling from a bus.
According to police, he was trying to board a moving bus near Ram Devali.
In Pindi Bhattian, a woman and her two children drowned when a motorcycle rickshaw plunged into Jhang Branch Canal near Pindi Bhatian.
According to reports, villagers fished out the body of the woman but could not traced the bodies of the two children, who, it is presumed, might have been swept away.
The villager, however, succeeded in saving the lives of the rickshaw driver and three other.
