Activists annoyed over Mai's role in US

Political parties and NGOs activists criticised Mukhtaran Mai, who, they claimed, is playing negative role in abroad and they have appealed to the government to take notice of her activities there.
Seraiki Inqilabi Council Chief Muzaffar Khan Magsi, Lok-Sudhar President Niaz A Sheikh, and Artists Unity President Javed Shad said in a joint statement on Thursday that the government should take notice of the utterances of Mukhtaran Mai in United States.
They quoted Mai as saying as if she and her family members were being harassed by government agencies and their lives were at stake in her native village.
Mai has developed an adverse impact abroad by playing in the hands of foreign-aided NGOs, they added.
They said that Mukhtaran Mai had exaggerated the entire story in United States by saying that the government of Pakistan was trying to harass her, which should be condemned.
They said that government had set up a police post in Meerwala to protect her life and sent her opponents behind the bars and strengthened her financially but she is playing negative role abroad.
