IT system to be introduced in CDGK hospitals: Mustafa

City Nazim Syed Mustafa Kamal has said that information technology management system would be introduced in all the hospitals of the City District Government Karachi (CDGK), including the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital.
In a review meeting about healthcare facilities to people by the city government on Thursday, he said that available resources and manpower of the CDGK hospitals would be utilised in an efficient way, once the information technology management system is introduced. "Application of this system would help hospitals in improving healthcare delivery standards that will facilitate common man", he hoped.
The meeting also reviewed the performance of the Sobhraj Hospital, whose medical superintendent briefed about the working and problems faced by the hospital.
Mustafa Kamal asked for holding separate review meetings on performance and working of different hospitals of the city government.
He also sought detailed reports on the performance of CDGK hospitals so that necessary decisions could be taken to further improve their performance.
"It is the responsibility of the city government to provide better medical facilities to Karachiites and measures are being taken in this regard within the budgetary resources", the City Nazim added.
About the Abbassi Shaheed Hospital, he pledged to improve its standard by undertaking short and long-term projects, and directed officials concerned to take efforts in this connection.
