US MIDDAY: wheat turns lower on export data

04 Nov, 2005

Wheat futures at the Chicago Board of Trade were lower at midmorning on Thursday in a retreat amid disappointing export data, with December falling to a contract low, traders said.
Continued long liquidation in the Kansas City market weighed on values as well. CBOT wheat had underlying support from short-covering.
As of 11:10 am CST (1710 GMT), December wheat was down 2-1/2 cents at $3.10-1/2 per bushel after posting a contract low at $3.10-1/4, below the previous low of $3.12. Deferred months were down 2-1/2 to 3 cents. Fimat Futures was a featured seller of 1,000 December contracts, traders said.
