Diabetes of Type Two globally on rise

In Pakistan, the prevalence of diabetes in people over 25 years of age is 12 percent, with another 10 percent having pre-diabetes or Impaired Glucose Tolerance.
A report released by Diabetic Association of Pakistan mentioned that while obesity, overweight and being fat are all interrelated terms, but they are important as they are core defects of Insulin Resistance and Type Two Diabetes Mellitus.
The rising incidence of diabetes Type Two is being observed all over the world and especially in developing countries at an alarming situation, it warned.
The report added that situation in Pakistan is equally critical as obesity figures are also rising rapidly and cause has been attributed to unhealthy life style with consumption of calorie dense food and insufficient physical activity.
The fat in the body specially that accumulated in the abdominal cavity leads to resistance.
In this situation insulin in the body can not give the desired results to produce expected physiological response.
