Boeing gets US contract for supplying missiles to Pakistan

07 Nov, 2005

The US Navy said on Thursday it had awarded Boeing Co a $62.5 million contract to supply Pakistan with 50 Harpoon anti-ship missiles and related equipment.
Forty of the missiles are to be air-launched versions.
The contract also includes some Harpoon-related military exercise equipment for Japan and Australia with a combined value of less than $1 million. The work is expected to be completed in June 2006.
In May, the Pentagon notified Congress of the Harpoon sale to Pakistan, a key ally in the US-declared war on terrorism.
