07 Nov, 2005

People of Balochistan celebrated Eid-ul-Fitr with religious favour, enthusiasm but with simplicity to express solidarity with earthquake victims in Kashmir and NWFP which claimed thousands of lives.
In all 28 districts of the province Ulema and Khateebs in their sermons on Eid congregational prayers at Eidgahs, Jamia Masajid, mosques and open places highlighted the significance of Eid day and offered special prayers for the solidarity, integrity, prosperity and progress of the country.
Special prayers were also offered for those who passed away in the earthquake and for early recovery of the injured. They also prayed to Almighty Allah to protect the country from such natural catastrophe in future.
The biggest Eid congregation was held in the provincial capital at Eidgah Toghi Road where the Khateeb urged the people to donate generously to Presidential Relief Fund for rehabilitation of the quake victims.
No traditional rush was observed at circus, parks, gardens, Hanna Lake and other recreational places in the provincial metropolis.
The people including children sent 'Eidi' (Eid money) and Eid gifts for affected children.
A 12 years old boy, Mukhtar Ali, who donated his new clothes for the quake victims talking to APP said, "I have sent my new Eid dress for quake hit children and I myself wearing the old one. My parents are happy and encouraged me".
