Haroon elected KCCI president

Haroon Farooki, the candidate of Businessmen Group (BMG), Siraj Kasim Teli faction, was elected as President of Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) on Saturday.
According to unofficial result, Haroon Farooki got 2062 votes, whereas his opponent Sultan Chawala got 1392 votes. Polling started at 10 am and continued till 6 pm, with one-hour interval from 1 pm to 2 pm.
Till 1 pm, only 1200 votes had been polled. After lunchtime, voters started pouring in, and 2383 votes were polled in the next 4 hours. There were 9333 voters, including around 368 women voters, out of which only 3580 voters used their right to vote to elect the president. Total 126 votes were declared invalid. The election was held in a peaceful atmosphere.
