'Punjab spending huge funds on higher education'

Punjab Literacy Minister Syed Hussain Jehanian Gardezi has said the provincial government is spending huge funds on the promotion of higher education so as to produce trained and educated youth in the field of modern knowledge and technology.
Speaking at a reception hosted in his honour by Zafar Khan Sial advocate, the minister said the construction of Government Degree College for Women was in progress and would be completed soon.
He said thousands of girls of Kabirwala tehsil would be able to get higher education at local level with the completion of the college building. He said he was making all out efforts for the development of Kabirwala tehsil and provision of basic amenities of education, health and environment. The minister further said the government was also promoting investment to end poverty in the province.
