Pakistan to participate in Midest Show-2005

Pakistan will attend the Midest Show-2005 at Paris from November 15 to 18. A 18-member delegation from the private sector led by Imtiaz Ali Rastgar, vice chairman and chief executive officer, Engineering Development Board (EDB), will represent Pakistan.
Nine engineering companies will exhibit their products in the Show. The Midest Show is one of the world's leading fairs of industrial sub-contracting with 70,000 m2 of exhibition space. Over 40 countries are participating in it. About 2,000 exhibitors will exhibit their products, out of which 36 percent are international.
Pakistan's participation is part of the government strategy to strengthen the engineering sector in order to make it a part of the global supply chain. The Pak exhibitors at Midest will be showing their component manufacturing abilities in the field of plastics, sheet metal, forging and cast components. Auto-parts manufacturers are also represented in the delegation.
During the Show, the delegation will have a series of meetings with the French auto-parts manufacturing association in order to increase trade between the two countries and foster joint ventures and new investments.
