Canadian and Korean parliamentarians visit quake-hit areas

Canadian and South Korean parliamentary delegations representing the Asia-Pacific Parliamentarians Conference on Environment and Development (APPCED) arrived here on Saturday evening.
The delegations, that arrived separately, were warmly received at the airport by Senator Zafar Iqbal Chaudhry, Secretary-General of APPCED, Senator Muhammad Amjad Abbas, Vice President of APPCED and Senate Secretary Muhammad Amin.
The Canadian delegation comprised MPs Byron Wilfert, Jim Abbot and Norrand Radford, Executive Secretary, Parliament of Canada, while the delegation from South Korea comprised Meyong Sook and President Executive Committee of APPCED, Hwang Woo Yea, Kim Hyeong Joo, Moon Hakjin and Ms Lee Sangmi, Director General APPCED.
The Joint Parliamentary delegation of the Asia Pacific Parliamentarians Conference on Environment and Development (APPCED) comprising parliamentarians from Canada and South Korea, led by Meyong Sook, President of the Executive Committee of APPCED, is here to express solidarity with Pakistan in the wake of recent devastating earthquake that hit various parts of Pakistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
