Funds for Mphil and PhD research scholars proposed

The board of Faculty of Natural Sciences University of Sindh has proposed for allocation of funds for every M.Phil. and PhD research scholar in science disciplines through their research supervisors for purchase of chemicals and other required material.
The scholars and scientists in the 6th meeting of the Board of Faculty of Natural Sciences University of Sindh here tabled this proposal on Saturday.
The meeting was presided over by Professor Dr Muhammad Khuhawar while 92 scholars including heads of the institutes and departments, senior professors of the science faculty, deans of the various faculties of the University of Sindh and scientists of various universities of province.
The meeting discussed and recommended the revised syllabi of various institutes and departments of the University of Sindh.
The meeting recommended that on the stage of the approval of the synopsis of its research work of the scholar in science discipline the funds of Rs 25,000 may be allocated for M.Phil. and Rs 50,000 for PhD scholar by the university for the purchase of the chemical and other required research material to meet the initial cost of chemical and collection of material.
The meeting also recommended for introduction of subject of biochemistry, physiology and microbiology at the college level as optional subjects and urged the government to appoint MSc and BS graduates as lecturer at the intermediate level for teaching of the subjects. The meeting also appointed a high level committee to examine the matter towards introduction of new subjects at college level.
The meeting recommended the up-gradation of the department of statistics as Institute of Statistics.
