IT promotion termed vital to progress

Sindh chief minister's Adviser on Environment, Alternative Energy and Information Technology Muhammad Noman Saigal has said the promotion of information technology (IT) and its up-gradation in accordance with the challenges of modern world is the need of the hour which is also imperative for sustainable development of every field.
He expressed these views while talking to a delegation of investors, led by Farhan Shaikh along with Tahir Ali.
He said the involvement of IT has been increased significantly throughout the world, and assured the delegation of his full support on behalf of provincial government and Sindh IT department for the promotion of the information technology.
He said the provincial government is making all out efforts for the development of IT in Sindh, but the private sector should also come forward to co-operate with the government for development of the same because the development in any field was impossible without the co-operation of the private sector.
The delegation assured the adviser of its full co-operation and agreed to invest in the IT sector.
The adviser also met with a delegation of students and announced to hold an exhibition for creation of awareness regarding IT among masses.
He said the IT education will be provided to students at the grassroots level, and in this regard discussions are under way with the Sindh education department.
Saigal said the civil defence training and scouting will also be restarted for students and the matter will be finalised after discussion with the education department.
