President General Pervez Musharraf lamented political manoeuvring in the Pakistan Muslim League and said that he had noted that some television channels and newspapers were trying to create grouping in the ruling party at a time when the whole of the nation and the government was busy for the help and support of earthquake victims.
He expressed these views during a meeting with Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi here on Sunday, an official said, adding they also discussed in detail the steps for the rehabilitation of quake survivors, political situation and transfer of power at the lower level.
The President said that as far as he was concerned he did not like grouping and differences in the party, adding if anybody had some problems he should meet PML president to get his problems resolved. "Creating dissension in the PML is wrong," he added.
Musharraf said that he met with Pervaiz Elahi to discuss rehabilitation matters of quake victims and exchanged views on other important issues. He appreciated 'support a family' programme of the Punjab Chief Minister. "We have to talk on the issue of dams and the National Finance Award," he added.
