Punjab Assembly body to check adulteration in food items

Punjab Assembly has formed a special parliamentary committee comprising PMAs Farzana Nazir and Samiullah Khan for checking adulteration in food items in the province.
Earlier, replying to adjournment motion moved by MPA Farzana Raja, provincial Law Minister Basharat Raja said government was taking stern action over the complaints pertaining to sale of substandard meat in the province.
Moreover, Punjab Assembly in its 23rd session on Monday handed over the privilege motion of MPA Muhammad Aajasam Sharif against the officials of Punjab Irrigation Department to privilege committee of the House. Punjab Assembly also discussed the annual performance reports of all medical and health institutions in the province for the year 2003 and 2004. Addressing on this occasion Punjab Health Minister Dr Tahir Ali Javaid said significant improvement was being witnessed in the performances of public sector hospitals of the province.
