Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz will launch CNBC Pakistan, a leading business news channel, through live broadcast of a Question-Answer session at the Prime Minister's secretariat Tuesday evening.
Eminent personalities from banking, corporate, business and finance sectors invited to the ceremony while others at CNBC bureau's abroad will also field questions during the ceremony.
Addressing a press conference at a local hotel on Monday, CNBC Pakistan president Zafar Siddiqui said initially the channel will present five to six hours live programme in Urdu, which will be extended later to eight to ten hours daily.
For the remaining hours, CNBC Pakistan will present live broadcasts from other CNBC stations in the Middle East, Europe, and America. Thus, he claimed, CNBC would be the first international business channel in the country reporting entire gamut of markets and financial activities at the international and national level.
Zafar Siddiqui disclosed they propose to set up a high-class media institute to train local professionals in economic and financial broadcasting at par with international standards.
He was confident CNBC Pakistan would become "most important media outlet for the economic sector reflecting continued growth and opportunity in the nation's financial markets".
