India's stock, currency and bond markets are closed on Tuesday for a public holiday. Trading will resume on Wednesday. Commodity markets are trading as normal. The 30-issue BSE stock index rose 0.27 percent to 8,494.29 on Monday. The Indian rupee ended 0.11 percent lower at 45.7325/7425 per dollar.
