A US soldier was killed and another was injured Tuesday when a home-made bomb hit their vehicle in restive eastern Afghanistan, the US military said.
Two Afghan soldiers and a civilian were wounded in the blast in Gayan district of south-eastern Paktika province, the military said in a statement.
"The unit was conducting offensive operations to prevent enemy activity in the area when the device detonated," it said.
