Egypt sells 1,275 tonnes of cotton

The Alexandria Cotton Exporters' Association (Alcotexa) said on Monday it had committed to sell 1,275 tonnes of cotton in the week ended November 19.
An Alcotexa official broke down the sales as 650 tonnes of Giza 88, 125 tonnes of Giza 86, 50 tonnes of Giza 89, 400 tonnes of Giza 80 and 50 tonnes of export type.
These new commitments bring Alcotexa's export commitments for the season 2005/2006, which began in September, to 39,025.5 tonnes of cotton worth $84.02 million, the official said.
