Australian Prime Minister arrives

Australian Prime Minister John Howard arrived here on Monday on a three-day visit. He was received at the airport by the Minister in Waiting Ijazul Haq, Australian High Commissioner to Pakistan Zorica McCarthy and other senior civil and military officials.
Talking to newsmen at the airport, the Australian Prime Minister said he was pleased to be in Pakistan. Howard, who is the second Australian prime minister to visit Pakistan, told APP he was looking forward to meet President General Pervez Musharraf and Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz and his cabinet colleagues.
The Australian Prime Minister said he would be discussing a whole range of bilateral issues, including the war against terror and further assistance for the devastating earthquake in Pakistan.
