Prime Minister praises Turkish quake relief support

Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz on Monday offered deep gratitude to the people and government of Turkey for their whole-hearted support in the aftermath of October 8 earthquake and said the historical ties between the two countries would continue to gain strength in the days ahead.
"Turkey has won the hearts of Pakistani people and it has proved to be a true friend of Pakistan," he said in an interview to Urdu service of Voice of Turkey (VOT) by Dr Furqan Hameed.
Prime Minister Aziz recalled the deep friendship between the two countries characterised by strong religious, political, social, diplomatic and economic bonds.
Referring to the visit by Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyib Erdogan, he said, the Turkish leader visited the affected areas in Azad Kashmir and personally offered his sympathies to the affected people.
"The way the Turkish government and the people supported Pakistan in this hour of need would always be remembered", he added.
