TeleCard and Instaphone sign accord

23 Nov, 2005

TeleCard and Instaphone have signed an agreement of interconnection between Insta's cellular network and TeleCard's Wireless Local Loop (WLL) and long distance international (LDI) networks, according to a statement issued here on Monday.
Speaking on the occasion, Instaphone Chief Executive Officer Kevin O' Sullivan said the synergies created as a result of the interconnect agreement would benefit the two networks and also enabled Instaphone subscribers to benefit from competitively priced international call tariffs offered by the TeleCard group.
Representing TeleCard, Fazal Hussain said that interconnect would be a step forward in facilitating subscribers of both operators and would enable them to access high quality services at highly competitive prices.
The interconnect agreement between the two concerns ensures that both TeleCard and Instaphone benefit from each other's competencies and are able to provide more options to the combined subscriber base. Instaphone, the pioneer of mobile telephony with a wide subscriber base across the country, is currently operating on TDMA network and progressing towards the migration to CDMA.
Through its 'WLL brand GO CDMA' launched earlier this year, TeleCard is also the first Pakistani telecom service provider to cross the 200,000 subscriber mark in WLL telephony and now provides services nation-wide.-PR
