62 child jockeys arrive

A group of 62 Pakistani children, who were used as jockeys in camel racing, arrived at Allama Iqbal International Airport from Abu Dhabi by a Gulf Airline flight Friday evening.
State Minister for Overseas Pakistanis Foundation (OPF) division Tariq Azeem received kids at the airport.
The Pakistani diplomatic mission at Abu Dhabi had requested the OPF to receive the children and hand them over to their legal heirs.
The minister handed over the child jockeys to Dr Faiza, in-charge, Children Welfare and Protection Bureau, with directions to thoroughly confirm about their legal hires so that they might not be kidnapped again or went into child traffickers.
Later, talking to media men the minister said the government is taking all possible measures to curb this menace of child smuggling. He also appreciated NGOs role in bring back these jockeys.
