LPG distributors to observe strike today

LPG Distributors Association, All Punjab Rickshaw-Taxi Union Federation and LPG Distributors & Sale Points Association are all set to observe strike in the provincial capital on Saturday to condemn the alleged excesses of police and officials of Civil Defence Department against them.
"City administration has failed to meet our demands and take stern action against the responsible elements, therefore we will observe strike as per our announced schedule on November 26-28, Muhammad Irfan Khokkar, Chairman LPG Joint Action Committee announced after presiding over a crucial meeting of the committee, here on Friday.
The meeting was attended by heads of LPG Distributors Association, All Punjab Rickshaw-Taxi Union Federation and LPG Distributors & Sale Points Association.
Khokkar said the committee had constituted nine teams to supervise arrangements of the strike.
According to LPG Joint Action Committee, in the first phase, all LPG sale points would be closed from November 26 to 28 and distributors would stop supply to all consumers in the city.
On November 29, rickshaw-taxi drivers would hold a protest rally from Layton Road to Punjab Assembly, and on 30th, they would observe hunger strike in front of the Punjab Assembly.
On December 1, rickshaw-taxi drivers would observe wheel-jam strike in the city, he added.
In case government authorities failed to meet the demands, the scope of the strike would be extended to all over the country, the LPG Joint Action Committee office-bearers threatened.
