Death anniversary of Faiz observed

While observing 21st death anniversary on Friday, writers and poets paid rich tributes to Faiz Ahmed Faiz in a function arranged by Pakistan Academy of Letters, Peshawar Chapter, at Urdu Science Board, Peshawar.
Professor Dr Tariq Hashmi delivered a lecture on 'Faiz Ahmed Faiz--life, works and achievements'. He said that Faiz was a revolutionary poet who used his poetry for the betterment of mankind. For this purpose, he faced great hardships but did not bow before anyone. He was really a man of principle.
His writings are an asset to literary world, which give people courage and message to work for the cause of humanity.
The function was presided over by Khatir Ghaznavi while Rehmat Shah Sail was chief guest. Said Wali Khayal Mohmand, Resident Director, Pakistan Academy of Letters, Peshawar, also spoke. The function was attended by a large number of writers and poets of NWFP.
