'Steps being taken for labour welfare'

NWFP Minister for Industries, Labour, Law and Parliamentary Affairs Malik Zafar Azam has said that labour community played a key role in the overall development of any country and MMA government was taking all out steps for its well-being and betterment.
Presiding over a meeting of Pakistan Workers Federation Peshawar chapter at Civil Secretariat Peshawar on Monday, he said that MMA government despite meagre resources was taking concrete steps for the promotion of industrialisation in the province, which he hoped, would not only create jobs opportunities but also improve standard of life of the industrial workers.
Director Labour Khalid Durrani, prominent labour leader Abdul Rab Sabir and other office bearers of the federation also attended the meeting.
The meeting thoroughly discussed issues like minimum wage of Rs 3000, implementation of labour law and eradication of child labour etc.
Referring to the problems of workers, Malik Zafar said that the provincial government was fully aware and all their genuine problems would be resolved on priority and permanent basis.
