Babar takes charge as Senate secretariat additional secretary

Iftikharullah Babar, joint secretary, has assumed the charge as Additional Secretary (BS-21) in the Senate Secretariat, according to a press release issued here on Monday.
The notification to this effect has also been issued. Senate Chairman Mohammadmian Soomro has approved the appointment of Joint Secretary Iftikharullah Babar to the post of Senate Secretariat additional secretary.
Currently, he is working with the committees of the Senate and besides other committees is secretary of the Parliamentary Committee on Balochistan.
Iftikharullah Babar has authored a number of research articles on wide ranging topics and has written numerous reports for the committees, which were laid in the Senate.
He attended the 13th Advanced Management and Development Course at the National Institute of Public Administration, Peshawar, and the 76th National Management Course at the Pakistan Administrative Staff College, Lahore.
Babar received early education from Burn Hall and Abbottabad Public School. He did MA (Economics) from the Peshawar University and obtained master's degree in development studies from the Institute of Social Studies (ISS), the Hague, Netherlands.
