Spanish jobless rate rises in November

The number of jobless in Spain rose by 42,719 people or by 2.0 percent in November from October, the labour ministry said Friday. On a 12-month basis, the number of jobless fell by 25,509 people or by 1.1 percent to 2,095,580.
In October, the unemployment rate had hit its lowest point since 1979, at 8.42 percent of the workforce, according to finance ministry figures which correspond to the standard set by the International Labour Organisation.
The labour ministry does not provide unemployment data in terms of percentage of the workforce.
