President leaves for Kuwait today

President General Pervez Musharraf will leave for 4-day visit to Kuwait and Yemen on Saturday and on last leg of his tour will attend 2-day 3rd extraordinary summit of the Organisation of Islamic Conference in Makkah Mukarramah, beginning from December 7.
The visits to Kuwait and Yemen are aimed at strengthening economic relations with these countries. The President will exchange views with the leadership of both these countries on a host of bilateral, regional and international issues. He will also meet speakers of parliament, key cabinet members, business leaders and members of the Pakistani community there.
Musharraf will address the OIC summit and hold bilateral meetings with leaders of the member countries on the sidelines of conference.
The Makkah Summit will consider and approve a 10-Year Programme of Action based on the recommendations of the Commission of Eminent Persons, Scholars and Intellectuals.
The summit is also expected to deliberate upon a strategy for addressing the problems and challenges faced by the Muslim Ummah.
