Trauma management courses for quake zone councillors

Special trauma and stress management courses have been organised for quake affected area councillors from December 15 in Islamabad to enable them to provide sustainable help to the people of their respective areas.
Director General Northern Region Directorate General of Special Education Ministry Social welfare and Special Education, Muhammad Fazal Cheema Saturday told PTV that a help line had been established in Islamabad for providing financial help, training, etc to the disabled quake victims.
Self help groups and relevant organisations of the affected areas would be involved in the rehabilitation process. Planning was being finalised to re-build all public sector buildings in easily accessible areas, he added.
"All basic facilities have been provided to 1,000 destitute quake victims residing in 'Ashiana' established at Hattian district Attock. Two such rehabilitation centres would also be established in Muzaffarabad and Mansehra for providing shelters to the affectees belonging to (quake affected) vulnerable groups," added. The existing two percent job quota of disabled would also be enhanced substantially. Provision of jobs to all quake disabled would be ensured by organising skill development for them.
