District Nazim pledges to convert Sialkot into model city

Sialkot District Nazim Muhammad Akmal Cheema has pledged that all available resources and means would be utilised for converting Sialkot into a model district of the Punjab.
Talking to Business Recorder here on Saturday, he said after the completion of the house of district assembly, long-term and short-term development programmes would be prepared aimed at expediting the pace of development in the district.
Akmal Cheema said, "Good governance" would be ensured for providing speedy and revolutionary services to the people of the district. A "Special Cell" was being established for monitoring the implementation of orders and progress of different government departments in the district, he revealed.
Besides, a computerised data of district government employees would be compiled for assessing the length of service, appointing authority, services rules applicable and duties assigned etc.
Sialkot District Nazim further said that all educational institutions had been directed that recitation of Holy Quran, Allama Iqbal's famous "Dua" and National anthem should be ensured in morning assembly in all the educational institutions of the district.
