Renewal of food licences by December 31 urged

The City District Government Karachi (CDGK) has informed all the sellers, manufacturers, and distributors of edible items that their food licenses will stand expired on December 31, 2005.
The sellers, manufacturers and distributors of food items, falling in the jurisdiction of the CDGK, are therefore requested to renew their food licenses before end of this month under the Pakistan Pure Food Rules.
The city government said the sellers, manufacturers, distributors, shopkeepers of food items like milk seller, bakery, general store, sweet shops, Nimco sellers, snack bar, fast food, hotels, ghee & oil sellers and spices sellers, who should renew their licenses. Otherwise, legal action could be taken against violators, which include heavy fine and punishment, a statement of CDGK said on Saturday.
