Plans to produce inexpensive power

Punjab government has prepared a multi-pronged plan for producing 500-megawatt electricity aimed at providing inexpensive power to the masses in the province.
Official sources told Business Recorder here on Monday that for this purpose, 42 sites have been identified for the establishment of hydro power stations for producing electricity and work on the project would be carried out soon. Power stations having the capacity of 50 megawatt each would be set up at the selected sites for generating the electricity in the province, sources added.
