Uzbekistan in March will sign a production sharing agreement worth nearly one billion dollars (849 million euros) with Russian energy giant Gazprom to develop gas fields in the west of the Central Asian country, the deputy head of the state energy company Uzbekneftegaz said Tuesday.
"We have approved the timetable for the realisation of this project, according to which the production sharing agreement between Gazprom and Uzbekneftegaz will be signed in March," Shavkat Majidov told journalists at an international energy seminar.
