Egypt's state grain buyer GASC received offers from four suppliers in its international wheat purchase tender on Thursday, traders said.
Traders said cheaper US wheat offered for $173.98 per tonne was disqualified because it was hard wheat as opposed to the soft wheat stipulated in GASC's tender booklet.
The lowest qualifying wheat offer was from Louis Dreyfus. GASC is seeking an unspecified amount of wheat from global suppliers for shipment from Nov. 11 to 20.
