Minister for Industries and Production, Jahangir Khan Tareen, will witness test demonstration of newly developed ginning machinery in Bahawalpur on December 13, said an official statement issued by Engineering Development Board here on Thursday.
The machine has been developed by the task force, constituted by the ministry in June last under the chairmanship of Chaudhry Masood A Majeed, Executive Director, Bismallah Cotton (Pvt) Ltd, Bahawalpur.
The other members were from Ministry of Textile Industry, Punjab Agriculture Department, Smeda, EDB, two private companies involved in ginning machinery and parts manufacturing, the statement added.
According to the statement, in improved version, the width of saw-gin had been increased from 1830 mm to 2160 mm with number of saws from existing 90 to 124. Furthermore, width of ribs has been kept at 14 mm while it ranges between 15.5 mm to 17.25 mm in the conventional machine.
The space between two ribs is maintained at 2.4 mm whereas, in the old machinery, it ranges between 1.4 to 3.0 mm. The width of space block is also kept at 15.50 mm as against 15.5 to 17.25 mm of old machine. Moreover, all the parts and components of the ginning machine have been standardised.
The drawings of the saw gin have been prepared on CAD system by the experts of PITAC and AMRI for the purpose of standardisation.
These drawing would be made available to local ginning machinery manufacturers. It is also decided that training of manpower shall be imparted to the ginning machinery operators, fitters and manufacturers. The maintenance and operation manuals shall also be prepared in due course of time.-PR
