Charity begins at home

10 Dec, 2005

Social problems and lawlessness are rapidly increasing in the society due to lack of proper training and guidance in the early age of the children at home. The young people have no basic knowledge about religious and social responsibilities.
Generally, it came under observation that elders whenever sit together in any function or occasion seen always busy in discussing the harsh and misbehave attitudes of the new generation.
At the end of lengthy discussion, they left the question as to who is responsible for unpleasant behaviour of the new generation?
It came under observations that working mothers have no time to give to their children's as all their energies are given to their careers. If unwillingly, ladies do the jobs, they lost their health and life becomes a burden for them.
In pruning their careers they do not have the time or patience to keep track of their children's activities and studies. Overly providing children with financial is not enjoy.
Children need the proper guidance, time, love and attention without, which they become lost. If the elders approached their own behaviour or their right and duties towards the new generation, most of them may feel guilty of negligence and realise the fact that they are the real culprit of all wrong doings in the society.
Most elders of the families are badly hurt by the changing attitudes of their sons and daughters as they have no time to share their views and responsibilities with the old parents. Similarly, more or less, they play the same roles with their children due to hectic schedule of the daily life. In fact, people from all walks of life, are trying to improve living standard of life to make high status in the society.
Those, who just think about the status in the society but are not able to get on the merit basis, are making short-cut by using wrong ways and nobody is ready to check them, even at home. It is supposed that the parents are bound to fulfil their duties. Are they fulfilling their duties?
Fathers spend the major part of day outside the home for jobs and mothers bring up the children at home. It appeared that against the Past, mothers belonged the poor class, are looking more under pressure due to rising financial problems. To deal with the domestic problems, many women unwillingly do jobs, as a result their children suffer more and pass their most of the time outside the homes in the absence of proper check and balance.
Parents should have to limit their additional activities for better and proper training of their children at home. To keep the children away from bad habits, many parents advise their children to stay at home without engaging them in the hale-and-hearty activities. Without any other choice, the children start watching all types of programmes on television. This factor is giving a thought that how a child can judge which type of programmes are informative or helping in their academic field.
Definitely a proper care and guidance can assist them. With the passage of time, it came under observation that the many women both from rich and poor classes go on jobs.
It made a sense that poor women do jobs to help their husbands by sharing their financial burden. But, those who have no financial problems are also want to do jobs mainly because of more luxuries in their lives instead of fulfilling their duties at home.
The building of character of a child is not very easy task. These realities hurt the children's feelings badly and also academic activities. Mother's lap is the first training institute for a child. If even mothers are not able, then who will fulfil children's rights and requirements?
It is high time for the parents that they keep checks and balances over their style of up bringing and training. The general perception is that the parents are responsible for all right and wrong doings by their children.
The concept of joint family system is almost in a shambles. Under that system, there were some disadvantages but on the other hand, there were so many advantages.
As young and old both were bound to respect each other and the elders under that system feel very proud and respectful after observing that the young people were following their golden principles. Besides, they were also were able to make a good citizen with all these qualities.
Most of the mothers feel very proud to say that the their children are getting higher education in 'O' and 'A' levels schools without realising that only education cant help in making a good citizen. They need special care, better training and proper attention by their mothers. If mothers do not give the required time to the child.
Many ladies, who are working in different institutions and departments (most of them are mothers) prefer to spend their left-over time in the forums and functions, feel very proud instead of giving time to their children because they are the needy of their due rights.
The government and non-government organisations arrange conferences, functions and seminars on different occasions to find the solutions to the rising human right violations in the society but failed to achieve any specific solution.
