12 Dec, 2005

City Nazim Syed Mustafa Kamal has asked all those persons affected by the Lyari Expressway project to contact concerned Town Nazims in case of any complaint as they have been delegated the powers to look into such complaints and take an appropriate decision.
He stated this while listening to public complaints at his office in Civic Center, on Saturday. He received complaints of over 300 people. The affected persons of Lyari Expressway also met him.
Most of the complaints pertained to Lyari Expressway, land department of CDGK and the admissions at schools. The persons seeking employment in city government also met him. Speaking on this occasion, Mustafa Kamal said that the son quota has been abolished in the country as it deprived the talented and efficient candidates of their right. " After the ban on recruitment is lifted, all the appointments in CDGK would be made on merit basis so that no injustice is done to any one," he said.
Removal of encroachments, City Nazim made it clear that the illegal occupants of government lands would have to vacate the land as such illegal practice is hampering the development projects.
City Nazim also met a delegation of deaf and dumb, who had come for seeking quota in the jobs. He assured them that after lifting of ban on fresh recruitment, they would be offered employment as per quota.
Meanwhile, in a meeting with Ahmed Bashir, chief executive of Sweden Bus, Pakistan, the City Nazim called up on private sector to come forward and invest in transport sector. He said it was on his top priority to bring an end to traffic jams in the city for which planning is underway.
