US diplomat lauds Pakistan government policies

Principal Officer, US Consulate Lahore, Brian Heath, here on Monday lauded incumbent government's policies that have improved Pakistan's image abroad.
Addressing a reception at the Thermal Power House Muzaffargarh the US diplomat said that during the last six years the Pakistan government has taken a lot of prudent steps that have strengthened the economy of the country.
He said Pakistan was now known in the world as a fast developing and peace-loving country, which was playing a crucial role in the war against terrorism.
Brian Heath eulogised government's fiscal and socio-economic policies, which have contributed to raise the living standard of the people of Pakistan.
District Nazim Muzaffargarh, Sardar Abdul Qayyum Jatoi, speaking on the occasion, said that due to thermal power houses and oil refineries in this region local people are suffering from skin, eye and respiratory diseases for which a full-fledged hospital is direly required here. The US diplomat promised to convey his request to his government in this regard.
DCO Choudhry Muhammad Azhar briefed the visiting US Consulate officer on the ongoing development projects. DPO Muhammad Tahir Rai also briefed Heath on the security measures being taken in the district.
Earlier, Brian Heath met Ms Mukhtaran Mai at her village Mirwala, tehsil Jatoi. She briefed the US diplomat on the welfare projects underway in her village. He also visited the Mirwala school.
