Wapda and UBL sign loan agreement

Wapda Chief and Chairman National Transmission and Dispatch Company (NTDC), Tariq Hameed and Atif Bokhari, President of United Bank Limited (UBL), signed an agreement on Monday to provide a term loan of Rs 2 billion to NTDC for construction of a 500 KVA grid station at Sahiwal, Punjab.
According to Wapda, the total cost of the grid station would be Rs three billion and the project would be completed in a period of 12 months.
On completion of the grid station, it will not only help reduce line losses to the tune of 35 to 40 MW, but also reduce pressure on Lahore and Faisalabad, besides providing constant voltage.
