US Stocks: Tuesday's unofficial close

US stocks treaded water as investors waited for the Federal Reserve to make its latest move on interest rates, while technology stocks dipped after electronics chain Best Buy Co Inc gave a weak outlook.
The Dow Jones industrial average was up 12 points, or 0.11 percent, at 10,779.61. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index was up 1.62 points, or 0.13 percent, at 1,262.05. But the technology-laced Nasdaq Composite Index was down 3.15 points, or 0.14 percent, at 2,257.80.
