The DCO, Multan Iftikhar Babur has decided to enforce laws regarding sale of LPG strictly and warned the dealers to take safety measures according to the law.
The decision was taken at joint meeting of dealers and administration here on Wednesday following the incidents LPG cylinder explosion in different areas of the country and an explosion near General Bus Stand that claimed three lives and left so many injured.
The DCO told the dealers that Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (Ogra) required dealers to obtain NoC before setting up depot and no such depot would be set up in residential areas. The DCO also said that gas depot could be set up only in single storey building.
The DCO said the illegal gas filling stations would be closed. He desired dealers to take due regard of peoples' safety. The DCO said that all the dealers would be registered and association shall provide particulars of member units. He warned that subletting of dealership was prohibited. A sub-committee was constituted for dealers to seek resolution of their problems.
