Apsena to hold moot on December 27

The Pakistan Division of the Association of Pakistani Scientists and Engineers of North America (Apsena) will hold a day-long conference at a local hotel on December 27. The topic of the moot is "The emerging challenges: Planning for a brighter future."
The City District Government Karachi (CDGK) Nazim Syed Mustafa Kamal will be the chief guest at the inaugural session of the conference.
According to organisers, the objective of the moot is to focus attention on some of long-term fundamental civic and environmental problems and challenges confronting the coming generation.
They said experts from North America together with their colleagues in Pakistan would use their knowledge and experience to raise awareness and sensitise civic leaders and the mass media in confronting the challenges such as disaster anticipation and response, urban planning, environment, science education, genetic engineering and bio-sciences, population growth, transportation, job creation, energy resources and telecommunication. Professionals, civic and community leaders, media representatives, intellectuals and members of the academic community will participate the conference.
The Pakistan Division of Apsena is headed by Samir Hoodbhoy, it was further stated.
