18 Dec, 2005

Minister for Information and Broadcasting Sheikh Rashid Ahmed on Saturday expressed the hope that the matter of constructing big water reservoirs would be resolved amicably.
"The matter will be resolved without resignation of any individual or party," he said while talking to reporters after attending the second Convocation of Riphah International University here.
Replying to a question, Sheikh Rashid Ahmed said President General Pervez Musharraf being a Sindhi-origin would never let go barren the vast cultivable lands in the Sindh, adding, "The President would save the agricultural lands of the province from getting barren."
He expressed the hope that the leadership of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) would take some positive decision after thorough deliberations on the matter.
"Better sense will prevail while deciding the matter and the things will improve positively," he added.
Answering a question regarding Opposition's indifferent approach towards the formation of a parliamentary committee for the rehabilitation of earthquake survivors, Sheikh Rashid said the plan was ready to be implemented without any delay.
