It is very surprising that those Pakistanis who came from Dhaka to Karachi after the close of Repatriation in 1978, on their own expenses and are permanently residing in Orangi Town, Karachi and are Urdu speaking and have old and new national identity cards, and are registered voters, have not been issued Pakistani Passports for the last 25 years.
We are requesting the Home Ministry to please clarify its position in this regard. We are hereby also requesting the lawyers to support us, because it is a basic human right, and to ask the government to issue Pakistani Passports to the permanent residents of Orangi Town, who as good as other Pakistanis.
