The City District government (CDG) Lahore, on Tuesday has decided that sale of any building in the city would not be allowed without submission of completion certificate from the town administration concerned.
While fine would be charged from the owners of all those commercial buildings, which were constructed illegally during the last five years.
District Nazim Lahore, Mian Amer Mahmood has also directed the town administrations to immediately remove signboards and other encroachments creating hurdles in smooth flow of traffic in their respective areas of jurisdiction.
Presiding over a meeting, held to review campaign against encroachments, the nazim also directed demolition of five storey building that was partly damaged in Township area.
DCO Lahore Mian Muhammad Ijaz, Town Nazims, Tariq Sana Bajwa, Sardar Kamil Umar, Begum Shafqat un Nisa, Yousaf Ahad, Mian Javed Ali, Chaudhry Muhammad Ashraf, EDOs of various departments, representatives of LDA and other officers attended the meeting.
The meeting decided that uniform construction by-laws would be enforced in all the towns and a committee comprising DCO Lahore, EDO Works, Director Town Planning LDA and TMOs would submit their recommendations in this regard.
The nazim also directed strict implementation of ban on trucks' entry in the city before 11.00 pm. He also asked the Education Department to submit a summary for removal of encroachments along the buildings of educational institutions.
Amer asked the town nazims to ensure allocation of funds in their annual budgets for procurement of machinery to be used for removal of encroachments. He also directed the town nazims to submit progress reports regarding the anti-encroachment campaign.
Town Nazim Samanabad, Mian Javed Ali informed the participants of the meeting that illegal encroachments from Wahdat Road, Moon Market, Gulshan Ravi, Icchra, Farooq-e- Azam Bazaar, Samanabad More, Chowk Yateem Khana, Touheed Park and Pakki Thatthi had been removed.
