A trial court here on Thursday acquitted Zehsan Siddique, a Pakistani origin British national charged by CID police for his illegal stay here besides recovering fake ID card from his possession.
Mohsin Ali Turk, judicial magistrate who had reserved his judgement on December 14, last announced it on Thursday after the prosecution failed to prove his case.
Mst Musarat Hilali, earlier appeared on behalf of petitioner Zehsan and submitted that there was contradiction in the statements of the CID officials and Nadra.
It is a non-cognisable offence because such cases were first referred to Nadra for investigation that whether the ID Card of his client was fake or otherwise but the official of Nadra in his statement recorded by the learned judge submitted that he was not informed about the fake identity card.
Referring to 419 and 420 sections of PPC, against Zehsan Siddique she said he neither cheated nor tried to deceive anyone and therefore should be acquitted.
